  • The Simple Life

Hey ya'll. Recently I took a trip up to see Katie Winkler's home in New York State. She is a fellow class mate at Verity and a "dear sweet girl." She was nice enough to offer to have me and a couple other girls to her house. It was wonderful. I never though I'd like a New England state so much but I loved it. have no fear my fellow southerns...I'm not converting!!!! That I'm afraid I could never do.

My trip upstate was preceded by a wonderful trip up to the UP of Michigan. All this traveling up north was very nastalgic for me. Crazy huh? that such a simple thing could be nastalegic but it was... how do you spell that word???

Anyways, Katie lives in a farm house...in a farming community. Imagine that? well, it was so beautiful up there. Everything was so crisp and clean and magnificent...both in the North Woods and in New York that it got me thinking about times gone by...when New York was just frontier land or when it wasn't but when we didn't have all the amenities we have today. ya know, life was simpler then because we didn't have so many frivolous little things that demanded our time but more fundamental things. does that make sense? like instead of spending time on the internet, facebook, xanga (:D) or watching TV, people had to focus on food, clothing and shelter. is life really easier without the modern conveniences

  • BORED!!!!!!

Hey yall... i think i've decided that breaks aren't good for me b/c of one simple fact: I get bored to easily. Ya see, i'm so stinkin busy for the months and months i'm at school that when i get home and don't have a thousand different directions to go in... i don't quite know what to do with myself. right now i'm watching the Disney Robin Hood. He was always my favorite hero growing up...him and Peter Pan...y? i guess becasue they lived outside and had alot of adventures. it helps that Robin Hood was an amazing archer and fearless and Peter Pan could fly. but enough of that. So, what r ya'll up to?

"Notwithstanding, the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, ... and I was delivered out of the mouth of the Lion."                            2 Timothy 4:17

  • a poem

"I often wonder why to me,
God chose to give a precious gift.
    Long before my time began,
He sent to Earth an infant boy.

That boy grew up to be a man,
    But different from any other.
His heart was purely consumed with God.
In Him was no wrong or evil.

His tender love touched many hearts,
But for the World, He had to die.
Neither death nor grave could hold Him!
He lived as Shepherd, died as slave,
Buried as man and rose as King!

Now He lives in and rules my heart.
By His knidness i have life and breath
By His mercy, i have been blessed.
    He gave me life everlasting,
And softened my heart to His word.

When i have chosen a rock heart
    Instead of His sweet fellowship;
    He graciously opened the rock.

And the waters gushed out. They ran in
Like a mighty river, to the dry place,
And my heart bore mcuh fruit again.
    When I exalted myself high,
He brought me low as a servant.

When i was lowly of heart,
He lifted me up to a high place.
When i surrendered to His service,
    He gave me Holy God-armor.

All my foes tremble at His name.
His works are mighty, above all
At His name, armies flee and fly.
    He has given me tools for war;
He teaches my fingers to fight.

    When my enemy is greater,
I fall on my knees in prayer.
    Jesus is my vict'rious warrior.
He has fought and won the kingdom.

    When the battle is over,
I must needs recover, God's Hand heals
My body is whole. My Spirit
    Finds rest in the Savior.

By His grace, I'll continue 'til death,
Then I'll meet my King in glory,
Where He'll reign forever and ever."
